January 2020 Lavish Bath Box

2/18/2020

I went back through my folders and noted that I've been subscribed to Lavish since November 2017! This is one of my favorite boxes simply because I love bubble baths and I think that many of the brands included really bring the creative and fun bath products to the front.

Also, I seem to have lost some of my pictures of the Lavish un-boxings. I can find October 2019....and that's the last but I know I took photos of the rest of the months (October on) but alas. Also, my office is still a disaster but it's less of one. I've been going through all my stuff since I actually prefer an uncluttered look but since moving back to the U.S. I've been given a lot of stuff from other people to sort through and I haven't been able to keep up. This (slow but) steady decluttering has also inspired me to tackle my digital hoarding. I apparently am a big fan of saving the most random of internet articles to read about in my spare time.

Luckily, @RawBeautyKristi (one of the few beauty YouTube channels I still watch) mentioned the "Yacht Rock" Spotify playlist and it's been my background jam for the past few days while I un-clutter my life.

The theme for this month was "Sugar Rush." I had forgotten the theme by the time the box reached me but I knew it was going to be a sweet type theme because it smelled really good.  Like...bakery levels good.

I kept all but one item. Not because the item was bad but because I'm backlogged and I'm creating a box for the abuse shelter of unopened items that might be of use. This is a long-term stay shelter for women and children, with the emphasis on safety as well as building a new life. There are other organizations that will take unused makeup and skincare for people in need so I try to donate rather than throw good items away or hoard until the item goes bad.

The links below should go straight to the shops (if active) without any weird link spam and I'll link to Lavish's pages and shop as well.

Top, from left to right:
  • Candy Factory Bubble Bar from Yours Truly Jaden: I really like bubble bars (more than I ever thought I would) so I like the Lavish puts one in every box. It's scented with tart and sweet cherry almonds (?) and is supposed to mimic the idea of cotton candy clouds (as it's white with stripes of color). It's a large bubble bar which could be broken up in a few different baths but I tend to be extra and use them all at once.
  • Ice Cream Dream Bath Bomb from Charming Cheshires: This is a large bath bomb shaped like an ice cream cone. There are different scents and I received blueberry (I think...I'm going from memory). I'm actually quite excited about it because I do like whimsical things like this.
  • Funnel Cake Whipped Souffle from Butter Toki: The last few boxes have included sugar scrubs so it was nice to get a lotion instead. I'm still working through my sugar scrubs (the one from Honest company has...melted? in my cabinet which was not a joy). This is scented to smell like buttercream, which is not normally a scent I want from my lotions/creams but it doesn't seem so overpowering so I decided to keep it.

Bottom, from left to right:
  • Blueberry Donut Bath Bomb from Sweet4Fuel: I think we've had Sweet4Fuel in our boxes before but I  can't remember with what. This is a bath bomb shaped like a donut that's scented in a light blueberry/sugar cake type flavor.
  • Bath macaron from Whipped up Wonderful: There were four scents and I received Black Raspberry Vanilla (red). This is a smaller little fizzer (compared to the two bath bombs) but it's so cute! It's in the shape of a french macaron and I placed it on it's side in one of the pictures below.
  • Snow Cone Lip Scrub from Parlo Cosmetics: This was a massive tub of lip scrub. Holy cow. It smelled really good too (like candy). This was the one item I did not keep, (to note again) not because it wasn't good but because I have three opened lip scrubs that I'm working through. Plus a bunch of unopened ones waiting. The shop creates a lot of animal-cruelty free and vegan products, including makeup.

Lavish Bath Box Home Page: There are still some older items from past boxes for sale (or even on sale).

Lavish January Box Page: only the donut ($6.99) and the ice cream bath bomb ($7.99) are for sale. The whole box is sold out.

Below: SubBox Lover unboxes January's box. I believe we received the same flavors but she goes more into the smells, which is nice as my nose is more like "candy/not candy" here.
