I've placed two orders at Beautylish so far this year and other than the fact they carry one super trashy brand, it's been an awesome experience. At the capitalistic level, I fully understand why they carry it but at the customer level...it's a miss-match as it's tacky packaging and problematic (and racist) owner. Anyways, I bought another Lina Choo lipstick (because they are gorgeous, I have Shakespeare and Duras) and I replaced my Kevin Aucoin book that one of my friends borrowed forever. I have two Kevin Aucoin books and one Lisa Eldridge book (her book is signed by her which is ah-mah-zing). Michele Wang did an unboxing of the lipstick in her video here, if anyone is super interested. This has nothing to do with Lavish Bath Box. I'm just excited about my new lipstick. Also, I'm fully aware that these two "unboxings" are not on time. In my defense, I'm not on any payroll for anything listed above and I've been having a lot of migraines. Those are probably inadequate excuses but hey, I'm only a month behind now! Also, Lavish has an online shop and often past goodies can be bought there (as well as some of the full boxes). I know they also have a brick and mortar store front in Marion, Illinois. I have a monthly subscription and it's about $40ish a month. Which probably seems like a lot but since starting this, I haven't really bought any other bath bombs or bath items so it works out. Occasionally my family and friends do raid my stash so it doesn't get out of hand. June 2019June's theme was "Royals." The box and the individual items are for sale in the online shop, so at the time of posting, you can get any of the items. There were two bath bombs. One of the bath bombs (the crown) had six different variations and I think one of the variations was a prize winner type thing (?) I didn't get that one so I didn't pay too much attention. There was also a "Loyal Subject" card which had a scratch off featuring a percentage off a subscription box. I scored 15% off which is nice. As you can see, the bath bombs are wrapped in plastic, which is really my only complaint. I don't know what else they could be wrapped in considering sourcing and mess but it's a bit of a bummer.
The next three items were a bubble bar, a shower gel and a salt scrub. I have used (or am using) all three. Normally I'm behind and lackadaisical when it comes to using products in any reasonable time but I started on this lot right away. Okay, a month later. The bubble bar is by Spun Gold Naturals and came in other shapes and colors. I received the purple "Amethyst" version. All the bubble bars had the same scent, which was a mix of orchid blossoms and amber. The purple color doesn't seem to be available anymore, but five other shapes and colors are available. I did use this (the same time as the crown bath bomb) and it turned my water into a beautiful lighter purple color. The bath bomb added to the color (blue and pink = purple) and also sparkles. I was greedy and used the whole bar for the bath but it could have absolutely been split into two or even three baths. The shower gel is called "Royally Clean" and is this garnet-pink color with sparkles. The card says it was made by Bathing Boho but the website says Fo' Shizzle My Fizzle because there was an apparent mishap and they had to be remade for shipping. It can be used as a bubble bath but I've just been using it as a shower gel. It has a really different scent. The listing says 'saltwater, ozone, lemon, raspberry, honeydew, black currant, jasmine, & gardenia' but it's really not any of that to me. The color is gorgeous though. The glitter does not transfer to my body if that makes you nervous.
The video below is an unboxing from Moment with Chip. She received a different bubble bar (emerald) and bath bomb than me, she also smelled everything and talked about the scent patterns. I'm not as great with that so I thought it was good one to post. Xpurr also did an unboxing if you need to see more, she got the sapphire and a yellow crown. July 2019July's theme was "Beach, please!" and honestly, another month of cute bath products. I didn't take as many photos with this one and I haven't used any of them yet so I can't talk about that. Also, two of the items were taken by one of my younger siblings as soon as I opened the box so I'll never see those again! The joy of siblings. There are six full size items, which is normal for Lavish. The two bath bombs are the Lil' Fishy bath bomb by Soak Fizz and Bubbles. It's in the shape of a fish!!! The smell is 'Hawaiian Smoothie' which is a blend of kiwi, pineapple, starfruit, and melons. The second bath bomb is the Crab Bath Bomb by Southern Bomb. It's the orange cake looking thing (top, middle). I can't tell much about it because it was one of the items my sibling wanted. It smelled good (which is why it was chosen). It has a little crab on the top but mine kinda got smushed and wasn't as clear as it started out with. There was a soap on a rope (bottom middle) in the shape of a beach ball! How cute is that? I've bought little nets for soap (you can get them from Jolse or Daiso sometimes) but having the soap actually on its own rope solves all sorts of problems. It's by Ruby Fizz and is called Sunkissed Beach Ball Soap on a Rope. One of the lesser scents is 'sun tan lotion' which is a first for me. I don't know how that's going to work out but okay. The body wash is this pale yellow color (top left) and is called 'You Dirty Beach' and is by Southern Skye. It's a scent blend of pineapple and creamy orange sherbet. This was the other item that my sibling took because of the name and the orange scent. So, alas. I suppose it's a good sign that someone else wanted to use it. The bubble bar (bottom left) is by Small Batch Soap and is called 'Shell Yeah'. The little blob of bright pink at the top is in the shape of a shell which is so cute. Great, vibrant colors as well. All the scent patterns for the items are tropical (mango, pineapples, etc.) and this is no different with pineapple, mango, papaya, and cream coconut. The last item is a salt scrub (top right) which you can't see as I didn't bring it up for some odd reason. It's a light blue color. It's by Nectar Fresh Body and is called 'Tropical Beach'. The scent pattern is sea spray, citrus, beach blossoms, seagrass, and driftwood. There's a soap on top in the shape of a palm tree. There are ground walnut shells in the scrub, so at least don't use it on your face just in case. I'm a fan of acids (over the counter types) for exfoliation on my face instead of scrubs but I don't think anyone should use a body scrub on their face...but I don't actually have any scientific back up for that. The box is still for sale in the shop. It's super cute and as I mentioned, all the scent patterns tend to lean towards 'tropical' or 'beach'. It's a nice scent mostly. Real talk, sometimes the beach smells rank, depending on what's going on or what's washed up. Nothing like the decomposing stench of dead fish to start the day. Or leftover beers and kegs from Spring Break. Moment with Chip also reviewed this box, but I didn't want to look like a stalker so I used SubBoxLover instead. She's also quite thorough and shows close ups.
