Lavish Bath Box: October 2019

Yup, this one is not even close to being on time. This is my last un-posted subscription box which I've been sitting on. The migraine I had messed up my sleep schedule and I'm just really behind on life. Well, mostly a day after everyone. Because I'm waking up when everyone is going to sleep so I'm missing all the day's activities. This is okay when there isn't mass protests, a pandemic and general anger. It's not so great otherwise.

So, while this is all really late, it was such a neat box that I'm going to share it regardless. It fits a "spooky" theme. Nothing is available anymore from Lavish (as they sold out of this awhile ago) but I can link the shops in case they have re-occurring items or similar designs. This was a great box. I've used every item (I mean, it's been awhile) and really enjoyed them. I'm normally behind on product usage vs. posting so this might be a first.

I'll be frank, I'm not one for horror movies, so I probably missed quite a lot of the references of the items included BUT I still really enjoyed them. I got the Jason (from the movie franchise) and Edward Scissorhands but the rest passed me by.

The box always contains a card with information on the products, the shop contact information and sometimes discount codes (if the shop is offering any). The theme is always listed on the card, as you can see, October's theme was "Pop Halloween."

Edward Scissorhands Bath Bomb, from Boil and Bubbly was super fun. Boil and Bubbly have been saved on my insta favorites so I was excited to try out a bath bomb from them. The have meticulously detailed bombs. They're currently between stocks but you can check out their insta to see what they do. Another site for them is their own website (non-Etsy).

The bath bomb is called Oogie Boogie and is from The Witchs Bath. This bath bomb isn't available anymore but they have some really fancy tarot card bath bombs. The oogie boogie bath bomb was MASSIVE. It might be one of the biggest ones we've ever received. It also turned my tub water into a lovely purple color.

Cooper Cat Apothecary
, which I think is a shop repeat (?), included a shower steamer called Jimmy's Roses. I love shower steamers (especially the day after a migraine (or hangover ::cough::). I tend to go for scents that are minty/menthol. This one is a lavender scented steamer, which is great before bedtime (how I used it). It's black and rose shaped. It's a Lavish Box exclusive but they so have other shower steamers.

The It's showtime! bubble bar is from Unique Commodities has a black and white stripped pattern (and a spider) on the top. The scent was apples and mangoes, which I wouldn't have thought mixed but worked out well. Granted, I love mangoes. They make me super itchy but I always eat them. This was an exclusive item for Lavish, so they don't have it on their website. They do have other products (although all their bubble bars are sold out currently).

The sugar scrub is from Twisted Allure. The scrub itself was a dense sugar (which is great with exfoliating). The smell was not overpowering and I thought it was quite nice. Since Covid is affecting their shipping and logistics they're sold out of many items but the Jason Rises Whipped Sugar Scrub is on their site as an option. The soap insert is the Jason mask (from the movies). Many of the sugar soaps have these tie-ins and design features.

The Camp Crystal Lake Bath and Body Oil is from RedFern's Bath Treats. We've seen Redfern before in our boxes (they always have nice products). Currently, the shop seems to be on a small hiatus (or waiting on a restock?) Not quite sure. The bath oil was this pretty glittery dark blue. I didn't mind the smell but I didn't love it enough to use as a body oil. I used it for bubble baths (still using it tbh) and then I super scrub my tub so that it's not slick.
