Macy's April 2021 Beauty Box: Red Carpet Inspiration

This might be one of my favorite Macy's boxes. It had quite a few luxe items and items that I always need more of.

There were seven items and a makeup bag. There isn't always a bag (sometimes there's little items like pill containers, mirrors, or rollers). The bag is a nice quality. I've kept it aside for Christmas present wrapping. Does that make any sense? I thought it would look festive in that manner.

There's always a booklet that talks about the products, which is nice. The card with a percentage off is always attached to the back of the booklet. This month's theme is "Red Carpet Insp."

The first three items:
  • Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Éclat Blur Face Primer: I have a friend that works for YSL and I've gotten quite enamored with their Touche Éclat products (through their prodding). They are pricy! This product is $52 for the full size. This is a radiant/luminous primer meant to help blur the skin for a more airbrushed finish. I've used this product before and I do like it. I don't use primer that much so I'm not sure I'm a huge example here. I prefer their YSL Touche Éclat All-Over Brightening Concealer Pen, which brings a nice finish to my undereye.
  • Bodyography's Tapered Blending Brush: This brush was nice. I always love getting more eye brushes. I think I'm a makeup brush hoarder. The brush itself seems to only be available in bundles. I have brushes that are quite stiff and scratchy and some that are incredibly soft, this particular brush is more on the soft end but still holds it's shape with the bristles.
  • Natasha Moor's Kohl It Magic Eyeliner: This is a new brand for me. I don't think I've used it as of yet. To be honest, I bundle all my eye pencils in a drawer and reach for them without looking. I only have black, ha! I'm a one note wonder here. I believe the price is $24 for the pencil. As I mentioned, I don't know anything about the brand but their lipstick has a mirror built it, something I rarely see (the only other lipstick I have that does that is Guerlain). From a quick google search, Moor seems to be a makeup artist and is hoping her line is more inclusive towards Asian coloring. That's not me, but I'm a fan of black eyeliner and dark red lipstick. I'll probably pick up that lipstick sometime soon, no lie!

The next two items:
  • Clinique's Quickliner for Eyes Intense Eyeliner: Some people were a bit annoyed with two eyeliners. Not me! Since I use black eyeliner exclusively (again, one note wonder), I do run out faster. I'm always in search for new super black eyeliner. This is more of a gel/marker feeling. There's also an included smudger in the full size but I'm not sure it's included with this size. I haven't used Clinique makeup in awhile but I do quite like their rebrand. The pencil is $20.
  • Makeup Eraser's The Original Makeup Eraser: I usually pull these aside for my best friend because she loves them. It's a soft cloth that should be wet thoroughly and then used to take off makeup. The full size towel is $20. As noted, my BFF loves these and prefers them over other methods. I tend to double cleanse so I'm not on this bandwagon but I know this product is being happily used.

The perfume of this month was by Jimmy Choo.
  • Jimmy Choo's Man: There are a few different sizes, starting at $64. This is the first frangrance from Choo for men. It's the one in the normal perfume/cologne envelope. The top notes are Lavender, Honeydew Melon, and Mandarin. The heart notes are Pink Pepper, Geranium, and Pineapple Leaf. The base notes are patchouli, suede, and Ambery Woods. That's a unique combination and I can see it being a fresh scent. I have to be honest, I didn't give this a try since my nose is not polished and I like all cologne.
  • Jimmy Choo's I Want Choo Perfume: I kept this to try and the note from the booklet suggested placing a spritz behind the knees as well. Not my normal place but I like the idea! There are a few different sizes, starting at $64. I'm in love with the bottle! It's stunning. The only other bottle I love as much is the Black Opium from YSL (hate the scent on me though). The notes mentioned on this (the website didn't have the detailed top/middle/base) are velvet peach, vanilla, jasmine, and red spider lily. I am intrigued! I'm working through a Lancôme scent that is fine but not fabulous on me so this one will be up soon-ish.
