This was the last box before Macy's paused their boxes because of Covid-19. The next box (May) was supposed to be the Jo Malone box which was exciting as I've never given Jo Malone a go. Whilst the box is currently not open for subscription, I'd keep an eye on the page because they're going to eventually start up again. I've heard July as a month being tossed around. Supposedly the Jo Malone box is the one they're going to start up again. The subscription costs $15. There's always a $5 or $10 coupon included for use in the beauty department. There's always a pamphlet that comes with it that talks about the item, shows the price of the full item and sometimes gives "hints" for product application. Included in April's box were three colognes/perfumes, one mask, three serums, one setting spray and the extra item was a set of hair clips. The perfumes were Coach and Lancôme while the cologne was from Coach. The cologne is called Coach For Men. I like the bottle (black with a coach etching). The full size is $87.00. The top note is Green Nashi pear, the heart note (?) is cardamom and the base note is Vetiver. I'm assuming heart note is the middle note and we're just being fancy. I don't know much about cologne obviously but I tend to really like the smell. The first perfume is Coach Dreams, which costs $102. It's also in a really nice bottle-glass with a flower top. The notes mentioned are bitter orange, gardenia, cactus flower and Joshua Tree. I wasn't aware Joshua Trees had a distinct smell to be honest. I kept the little sample and I think it smells nice. I've only used it a few times so I don't think I can make a call on it yet. I'm not sure if it will come into my rotation as of yet. The last perfume is from Lancôme and is called Idôle. It also has a beautiful bottle and its sample is one of the more stunning ones I've seen (it's a mini bottle). The price is $123. This seemed to get a large marketing push with Zendaya as ambassadress. I've used this one the most out of the two scents sent to me and I have more of an idea about this one. The top notes are bergamot (citrus), juicy pear and pink peppercorn. The middle notes are rose and jasmine whilst the bottom notes are white musk, vanilla, patchouli and cedarwood. I found the scent fairly strong (for me) although it fades. Also, I found it...spicy. I don't know if it's just the peppercorn really coming on strong just on me or on everyone. So I will probably use it all up but I won't go back for it. My favorite part is the stunning bottle, the full size bottle is still really thin and is refillable--which is a great idea. So I really wish I jived with the scent more. The mask included was from Ahava and is the Purifying Mud Mask. The full size is $35. This is a mud mask and is a repeat item for me. I like mud masks so this is fine. I've stopped leaving my mud masks on until they dry because the scrubbing it takes to remove really irritates my skin. This mask is only supposed to be left on for two minutes and doesn't dry my skin out. The next item was from Coola and is the Sunless Tan Anti-Aging Face Serum. The full price is $54. Supposedly it takes two hours for the tan to form or a few drops can be included in moisturizer for a glowing effect. I didn't keep it because I don't tan at all but I think if you do tan, this could be a game changer for making things match. The next two items are serums. One is the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. The full size is $79. I like the Caudalie face mist so much (the smell!) but I haven't really dipped my toe into the rest of the brand. I've used this a few times (not daily) and I like the consistency. I can't say more than that as it's only been a few weeks.
The last serum is the Elizabeth Arden's Retinol Ceramide Capsules. I'm OBSESSED with them. I don't know why. It costs $84 for 60 little gel caps. It's kinda expensive but it still fun. I like that it has retinol in it. The last item is from Pur and is the Lit Mist Setting Illuminating Spray and costs $24. I really liked this because I thought it made my makeup look nice after it was done. There is a light glitter output that gives a illuminating sheen. It's not a glitter bomb. The extra item was a set of trendy hair clips. I'm not great with on point hairstyles but I like having the ability to place my hair out of my face. One is pink glitter whilst the other is pearl. They're a really lovely quality.
