May 2020 The Book Drop Unboxing

7/22/2020

I'm on a big deadline so I think the next two weeks I might pull back a bit from the blog. (Like, two posts instead of three!). I'm also a little worried about the rising number of Covid-19 cases....I'll probably be bunking down with work. Between this project for work and not wanting to get sick, I'm just going to be a bit MIA.

Today I'm going to show my Book Drop subscription for May 2020. The Book Drop is a subscription from Bethany Books. There's usually a paperback book, maybe a bookmark and a card talking about the book. Also included is a brochure talking about new releases. Every once in awhile there's a letter from the author or something like that.

May's book looks super cute (haven't read it as of yet). It wouldn't be something I picked out but I like the cover and I think it has an interesting premise. Granted...the books I pick out tend to be....murder-mysteries. So, that's not an really a significant statement from me.

The subscription comes in an envelope mailer (which is recyclable!).

I started this subscription by picking the "Books For Tea" which is more literary fiction. I wanted to break out of my murder mystery genre habit a little bit. While that was nice, they came out with several new genres, including a "Books For Bubbly" which is romance and friendship genre fiction. I eventually switched over to this one...kinda because of the Covid-19 pandemic and because I wanted some happy endings.

I believe May was my first mailer for this new genre. It was an easy switch (I just emailed them).

When your nemesis also happens to be your fiancé, happily ever after becomes a lot more complicated in this wickedly funny, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy debut.

Naomi Westfield has the perfect fiancé: Nicholas Rose holds doors open for her, remembers her restaurant orders, and comes from the kind of upstanding society family any bride would love to be a part of. They never fight. They're preparing for their lavish wedding that's three months away. And she is miserably and utterly sick of him.

Naomi wants out, but there's a catch: whoever ends the engagement will have to foot the nonrefundable wedding bill. When Naomi discovers that Nicholas, too, has been feigning contentment, the two of them go head-to-head in a battle of pranks, sabotage, and all-out emotional warfare.

But with the countdown looming to the wedding that may or may not come to pass, Naomi finds her resolve slipping. Because now that they have nothing to lose, they're finally being themselves--and having fun with the last person they expect: each other.
