PopSugar Spring 2019 unboxing

7/16/2019

I have a box! It's the Spring PopSugar box. They've gone seasonal which is okay (I loved the monthly boxes) and I think the 'theme' was self-care. The box has gone more eco-friendly. It used to be the black box inside a standard shipping box but they switched up so the black box is the only box. Each quarter box costs $75 (plus shipping). I also kept everything in this box as it was more practical or even my style. PopSugar has a page about the unboxing, with better pictures than what I have.

There's always a little book included with a message from Lisa, the founder of PopSugar. It lists what's in the box and then sometimes a spotlight on the featured item. There were some spoilers before the box shipped, I think the exercise bag, the hairbrush and the necklace (because you could choose your metal).

You can see the duffel bag in the picture there. It's a purple and grey camo pattern that I would not have ever picked out but I kinda like it. There's a bottom compartment for your tennis shoes, which is really nice. Every other gym bag I've owned has been basically a big purse.

I need to get back into exercise, it's supposed to help migraines (endorphins maybe) but I haven't had any energy until recently. The bag is enough to fit shoes, clothes, makeup/hair bag and shower stuff. So it's a great size. The brand is Vooray, and it's the burner duffel model, which retails for $50. I cannot tell you anything else about it because I haven't actually used it yet. (**update: I have used it. It's great**)

The T3 Paddle Brush and the Kris Nations Opalescent Moon Necklace were revealed before the box shipped. I've never paid so much for a brush, although I went through a phase of wanting a Mason Pearson one, mostly because I'm lazy when it comes to my hair. Messy buns are life. But this is a nice brush. It's really meant for use during blowouts (which again, too lazy to do). It's normally $35 but on sale at Ulta for $28. The necklace is $68 and is dainty. It's almost too dainty for me (I picked silver) but I'm keeping it because I love that it's a moon. I think this is the second item from Kris Nations that PopSugar sent out (but it's the first I kept). It's sold out on the site, but Poshmark has some options.

The OSEA Ocean Cleanser seemed to be a crowd favourite (via other comments). I haven't used it yet but I've heard nice things about the brand. It's a gel cleanser and is vegan. It's $48 (for the full size, which was included), I haven't used it yet but it joined my collection. So I'll get to it it eventually.

Manduka 4-inch headband. I wasn't super excited about it at first but it's actually more of a sport headband (if that makes sense). It has staying power and I actually kept it...although again...haven't really worked out. I've used it during the face wash ritual.

Missio Hair Styling Cream is $26, and again--not a hair styling person, but their company mission is to help stop human trafficking. I haven't used it yet but I'll get around to it sometime this year (hopefully).

Anna NY Vola Lucite Clock seemed to be an item that you either liked or you didn't. I wasn't familiar with the brand but I liked the clock. Its small and fits under my monitor stand. It's pretty and dainty. There's also an etching that says, "your time is now", which I'm taking as an affirmative...although it's a little threatening. It's listed price is $85 but I saw some for sale on Poshmark, which tends to be a nice place to look for PopSugar items after the box ships out.

TruWoman Donuts Protein Bar is actually in my purse in case my blood sugar is crashing and I need food because my head is incredibly stupid about things. But I've been pretty stable. It's a plant fueled protein bar.
There are two extras in the box, both of which I have tried before. So that's something I can say (unlike everything else that came).

One of the extras is Sensodyne Pronamel Repair toothpaste. I usually buy what's on sale or what my Dentist gives me but I like sensodyne products just fine and I actually used this before my current toothpaste. I'll probably use it when that one runs out. It's a gentle toothpaste, but I do prefer the mint versions of toothpaste, which this does come in.

The other item is Yogi Green Tea in Passion Fruit Matcha. I'm a big tea drinker (by American standards) because I don't like coffee. I love, love, love getting tea in boxes and they immediately go into my tea trolley. I haven't tried this flavor yet but I have tried the brand (and like them). I tend to like pretty much all the tea I drink and I'll drink it without sugar, with sugar, without milk and with milk. I'm not a snob at all. And (horrors!) I put the milk in before and after the tea.
