Okay, I have three 2021 Book Drop Subscription unboxings and I'm caught up...I think. So, let's start with the first one - March 2021.

March 2021: Fantasy pick (Elixir)

Isn't the cover stunning! And just in time for Mardi Gras! Probably a coincidence but still. This is the first book in a trilogy and it's pretty thick. There is a full-page map, which I think is really helpful for made up worlds.

Synopsis:

Fortune favors the bold. Magic favors the liars.

Ren is a con artist who has come to the sparkling city of Nadežra with one goal: to trick her way into a noble house, securing her fortune and her sister's future.

But as she's drawn into the elite world of House Traementis, she realizes her masquerade is just one of many surrounding her. And as nightmare magic begins to weave its way through the City of Dreams, the poisonous feuds of its aristocrats and the shadowy dangers of its impoverished underbelly become tangled…with Ren at their heart.

The Indie Next list is always included. I love this thing. It adds to my book hoard for sure.

The monthly bookmark design reminds me of those 90s patterns.

This month's bookmark is super colorful! It's probably one of my favorite designs they've done for bookmarks.

A letter from the author. But oh lord, the cover. So pretty. I'm a sucker for a pretty cover.

Synopsis:

Jessamyn Teoh is closeted, broke and moving back to Malaysia, a country she left when she was a toddler. So when Jess starts hearing voices, she chalks it up to stress. But there's only one voice in her head, and it claims to be the ghost of her estranged grandmother, Ah Ma. In life Ah Ma was a spirit medium, the avatar of a mysterious deity called the Black Water Sister. Now she's determined to settle a score against a gang boss who has offended the god--and she's decided Jess is going to help her do it.

Drawn into a world of gods, ghosts, and family secrets, Jess finds that making deals with capricious spirits is a dangerous business. As Jess fights for retribution for Ah Ma, she'll also need to regain control of her body and destiny. If she fails, the Black Water Sister may finish her off for good.

As always, we receiver a card about the book chosen and the Indie Next list. There were quite a few books in here that piqued my interest. It tells you what's new in paperback and hardback for the month.

Also included was a booklet for books available for purchase from Bethany Beach Books. If you don't have a local indie, BBBooks is great store to use.

Our bookmark was very holiday themed! I loved it!

We also received a letter from the author. She talks about how she got her idea for the plot and how she researched her plot. I love stuff like this because I think it adds to the book.

Oh, this cover is stunning too! I really appreciate the work that goes into a beautiful cover.

Synopsis:

Paris, 1925: To enter the Secret Circus is to enter a world of wonder-a world where women tame magnificent beasts, carousels take you back in time, and trapeze artists float across the sky. But each daring feat has a cost. Bound to her family's strange and magical circus, it's the only world Cecile Cabot knows-until she meets a charismatic young painter and embarks on a passionate love affair that could cost her everything.

Virginia, 2005: Lara Barnes is on top of the world-until her fiancé disappears on their wedding day. Desperate, her search for answers unexpectedly leads to her great-grandmother's journals and sweeps her into the story of a dark circus and a generational curse that has been claiming payment from the women in her family for generations.
