I'm trying out a bunch of new subscriptions this year but I've kept The Book Drop. The Book Drop is from Bethany Beach Books in Delaware. There are a lot of different options for genre choice, but I've kept "Books for Bubbly," which is the genre including romance and friendship. While I normally pick mysteries, it's been nice to have something lighter with happy endings. I tried the more book club type book subscription (Books for Tea I think? Or Coffee? One of those) and while they were all great picks, I needed something with a guaranteed happiness level for this pandemic. This subscription totally scratches that itch. The book for September was Beth O'Leary's The Switch. I actually picked this up in the bookstore (I mean, I was virtually shopping, so I opened the tab) and decided to save it for later as I had Tana French's new book, Samantha Irby's new book, and a new (to me) Sara Blaedel book. I was trying to be good! Luckily it was the monthly pick. A bookmark, note from the author, and a digital copy (via email) to the Indie Next List. I do enjoy having a physical copy but these are crazy times so this was okay. I haven't yet read this one, but it looks super cute right? I love how colorful the cover is (it's calming!) and it's set in the UK. I'm reading a Tami Hoag, so I might pick up this one afterwards.
